Privacy Policy

The Strand Studio Salon ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information obtained through this website and our booking and service processes. By using this website or providing your information to us, you consent to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Identifiers: Your full name, email address, phone number, and mailing address when voluntarily submitted through our contact forms, booking platform, or in-person intake.

  • Service Information: Hair history, prior chemical treatments, product sensitivities, health disclosures, and appointment preferences you share with us.

  • Payment Information: We do not directly store full payment card numbers. Payment processing is handled by PCI-compliant third-party processors, and their privacy terms govern that data.

  • Communications: Records of email correspondence, text messages, or phone interactions between you and the Salon.

  • Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages visited, time spent on site, and referral source, collected automatically via cookies and analytics tools.

2. How We Collect Information

We collect information in the following ways:

  • Directly from you when you fill out a contact form, book an appointment, create an account, make a purchase, or communicate with us.

  • From third-party booking and scheduling platforms integrated with our site (such as Vagaro, Square, Fresha, or similar services). Please review those platforms' privacy policies separately.

  • Automatically through cookies, web beacons, pixel tags, and similar technologies when you visit our website. See Section 6 (Cookies and Tracking) below.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information for the following purposes:

  • To book, confirm, modify, or cancel appointments and to provide requested hair and beauty services.

  • To send appointment reminders, follow-up communications, and service-related notifications via email, phone, or SMS.

  • To personalize your service experience based on your hair history and prior service records.

  • To send promotional emails, newsletters, or marketing materials to clients who have opted in. You may opt out at any time (see Section 8).

  • To comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our Terms.

  • To analyze website traffic and improve the functionality, content, and user experience of our website.

  • To process payments through our third-party payment processor.

4. SMS, Text Message, and Telephone Communications (TCPA Compliance)

By providing your mobile phone number and booking an appointment, you expressly consent to receive appointment-related text messages (SMS) from The Strand Studio Salon, including booking confirmations, reminders, and follow-up messages. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency may vary.

Promotional or marketing text messages will only be sent to clients who have separately and affirmatively opted in. You may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to any text message received from us. Following an opt-out, you may continue to receive transactional messages necessary to complete or modify an existing appointment.

For TCPA compliance: by submitting your mobile number, you consent to autodialed or pre-recorded calls/texts for appointment purposes only, unless broader consent is separately obtained.

5. Sharing and Disclosure of Information

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise disclose your personal information to unaffiliated third parties for their own marketing purposes. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We may share information with trusted third-party vendors that assist in operating our website, booking system, email marketing, or payment processing (e.g., Wix, email platforms, payment processors). These providers are contractually obligated to use your data solely for the services they provide to us.

  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose information when required by law, court order, subpoena, or governmental request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety, rights, or property of the Salon, its staff, or the public.

  • Business Transfer: In the event of a sale, merger, or acquisition of all or substantially all of our business, your personal data may be transferred to the acquiring entity. You will be notified of any such transfer and any changes to this Privacy Policy.

  • Consent: We may share your information with third parties when you have given explicit consent, such as for co-marketing initiatives or referral programs.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website, hosted on the Wix platform, uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your browsing experience, remember your preferences, analyze site traffic, and measure the effectiveness of our marketing. Types of cookies we may use include:

  • Essential Cookies: Necessary for the website to function properly; they cannot be disabled.

  • Analytics Cookies: Used to understand how visitors interact with the site (e.g., pages visited, time on site). Data collected is aggregated and anonymized.

  • Marketing/Preference Cookies: Used to deliver relevant promotional content and remember your preferences.

You may control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of this website. Our website respects browser-based "Do Not Track" signals where technically feasible; however, we cannot guarantee that all third-party tracking tools integrated into our platform will honor such signals.

By continuing to use this website with cookies enabled, you consent to the use of cookies as described in this Policy and in Wix's applicable cookie policy.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including providing services, maintaining business records, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing our agreements. Client service records, health disclosures, and appointment history may be retained for up to three (3) years following the last appointment. After the applicable retention period, data is securely deleted or anonymized.

8. Your Communication Preferences and Opt-Out Rights

You may opt out of promotional email communications at any time by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link in any marketing email we send. You may also contact us directly to update your communication preferences. Please note that even after opting out of marketing communications, you may still receive transactional messages related to your appointments or services.

To opt out of SMS/text messages, reply STOP to any message received from us. To opt out of phone calls for promotional purposes, contact us directly and we will honor your request promptly.

9. Security of Your Information

We implement commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include secure transmission protocols (HTTPS/SSL), access restrictions, and reliance on Wix's platform-level security infrastructure.

HOWEVER, NO METHOD OF DATA TRANSMISSION OR STORAGE OVER THE INTERNET IS COMPLETELY SECURE. By submitting personal information through our website or forms, you acknowledge and accept that The Strand Studio Salon cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

  • Right to Access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

  • Right to Correction: You may request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.

  • Right to Deletion: You may request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions (e.g., information required to complete an existing transaction or comply with law).

  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights.

California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know what categories of personal information are collected, the right to opt out of sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, and the right to limit use of sensitive personal information.

To exercise any of your privacy rights, please contact us in writing at the address or email listed in Section 14. We will respond to verifiable requests within thirty (30) days or as otherwise required by applicable law.

Our website is hosted on Wix (wix.com) and may integrate with third-party booking, email, and payment platforms. Each of these platforms operates under its own privacy policy, which governs how they collect and use data. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party platform through which you interact with us. The Strand Studio Salon is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party platforms.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, applicable laws, or operational needs.
