Terms & Conditions

1. Service Results and Expectations

All hair and beauty services provided by The Strand Studio Salon are performed by licensed cosmetology professionals in accordance with applicable state regulations. Notwithstanding such licensure and professional care, individual results may vary significantly based on factors outside the Salon's control, including but not limited to: prior chemical treatments, hair history, natural hair texture, porosity, density, underlying scalp conditions, hormonal changes, dietary factors, and individual biological response to products or services.

The Strand Studio Salon makes no guarantee, express or implied, regarding any specific aesthetic outcome, color result, or treatment effect. Photographs, before-and-after images, and examples displayed on this website or social media are illustrative in nature and do not constitute a guarantee of results. Client expectations should be discussed in detail during the consultation process.

All services are rendered final upon completion. No refunds will be issued for services already performed. If a client is dissatisfied with a completed service, The Strand Studio Salon may, at its sole discretion, offer a complimentary adjustment appointment within seven (7) days of the original service date, provided the client contacts the Salon within forty-eight (48) hours of service completion and the request falls within the scope of the original service.

2. Health, Allergy, and Medical Disclosure

Clients are solely responsible for disclosing, prior to any service, all known allergies, scalp sensitivities, skin conditions, current or recent medications (including but not limited to blood thinners, antibiotics, acne medications such as isotretinoin, and chemotherapy agents), pregnancy or breastfeeding status, autoimmune conditions, alopecia, psoriasis, eczema, and any other medical condition that could be affected by or affect the delivery of hair services.

A patch test or skin sensitivity test ("Patch Test") may be recommended or required prior to certain chemical services, including but not limited to color, bleach, relaxer, keratin, and perm treatments. The Strand Studio Salon is not liable for any adverse reaction, injury, hair damage, or loss resulting from:

  • A client's failure to disclose relevant medical information or allergies prior to service

  • A client's refusal or declination of a recommended Patch Test

  • Reactions occurring twenty-four (24) to seventy-two (72) hours after a Patch Test is conducted with a negative result, as delayed hypersensitivity reactions may occur outside standard testing windows

  • Pre-existing conditions that were not disclosed or were unknown at the time of service

  • Use of over-the-counter products, prescription treatments, or other chemical services applied by the client between appointments

By booking an appointment, you represent and warrant that you have disclosed all material health information and that you assume all risk associated with services requested in spite of any disclosed or undisclosed conditions.

3. Assumption of Risk and Release

By booking or receiving any service at The Strand Studio Salon, the client voluntarily assumes all inherent risks associated with hair and beauty treatments, including but not limited to: temporary or permanent hair damage, breakage, or loss; scalp irritation, burns, or allergic reactions; color results that differ from expectations due to factors including prior treatments, natural pigmentation, or product interaction; and injury resulting from the use of heat, chemical, or mechanical tools.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the client releases The Strand Studio Salon, its owner(s), employees, contractors, and agents from any and all claims, demands, damages, causes of action, or liabilities of any kind, known or unknown, arising from or related to the receipt of services or use of this website.

4. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE STRAND STUDIO SALON'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THIS WEBSITE OR THE SERVICES PROVIDED SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO THE STRAND STUDIO SALON FOR THE SPECIFIC SERVICE GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM IN THE THIRTY (30) DAYS PRECEDING SUCH CLAIM.

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE STRAND STUDIO SALON BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, USE, DATA, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. In such jurisdictions, the Salon's liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

5. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless The Strand Studio Salon, its owner(s), employees, independent contractors, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of this website or any services; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your provision of false, incomplete, or misleading health or personal information; or (d) any breach of any representation or warranty made by you herein.

6. Right to Refuse Service

The Strand Studio Salon expressly reserves the right to refuse, discontinue, or modify any service at any time, at the sole discretion of the stylist or Salon owner, for reasons including but not limited to:

  • Safety concerns regarding the health of the client's hair or scalp that could be aggravated by the requested service

  • Failure to disclose known allergies, medical conditions, or prior chemical treatments

  • Presence of head lice, scalp infection, open wounds, or other communicable conditions

  • Inappropriate, threatening, harassing, or abusive behavior toward Salon staff

  • Intoxication or impairment at the time of the appointment

  • Failure to comply with Salon health and safety protocols

In the event service is refused due to safety concerns, a partial or full service fee may still be charged for time and preparation already performed. The Strand Studio Salon is committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and professional environment for all guests and staff.

 

7. Appointment, Cancellation, and No-Show Policy

Appointments may be booked online, by phone, or through our booking platform. By booking an appointment, you agree to the following:

  • Cancellations must be made at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to the scheduled appointment time to avoid a cancellation fee.

  • Late cancellations (less than 48 hours notice) may be subject to a fee of up to fifty percent (50%) of the scheduled service total.

  • No-shows (failure to appear without any notice) may be charged up to one hundred percent (100%) of the scheduled service total and may result in a requirement for prepayment on future bookings.

  • The Strand Studio Salon reserves the right to release your appointment slot after fifteen (15) minutes past the scheduled start time without prior notification.

These policies exist to respect the time of our stylists and other guests on the waitlist. We appreciate your understanding and courtesy.

8. Photography, Social Media, and Likeness Release

The Strand Studio Salon may photograph or video record finished results for use on its website, social media platforms (including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and others), and marketing materials. By receiving services at The Strand Studio Salon, you grant the Salon a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide license to use your image and likeness in such materials, unless you expressly opt out in writing prior to your appointment.

The Strand Studio Salon will not tag, name, or otherwise publicly identify clients in any media without separate written consent. Clients who wish to opt out of any photography or media use may do so by notifying the Salon at the time of booking or upon arrival.

Clients who post, share, or tag The Strand Studio Salon in social media content grant the Salon the right to repost, reshare, or otherwise republish such content with appropriate credit.

9. Pricing, Service Descriptions, and Availability

All prices displayed on this website are subject to change without notice and are provided for informational purposes only. Final pricing is determined at the time of service based on actual service requirements, including hair length, density, and complexity. A detailed price quote will be provided during consultation. The Strand Studio Salon is not bound by any price displayed online that contains a typographical or technical error.

Product availability and service offerings are subject to change. The Strand Studio Salon reserves the right to discontinue, modify, or add services at any time without prior notice.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, photographs, video, and design elements, is the property of The Strand Studio Salon or its content licensors and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, display, transmit, or create derivative works of any content without the prior written permission of The Strand Studio Salon.

11. Third-Party Links, Platforms, and Products

This website may contain hyperlinks to third-party websites, booking platforms, payment processors, or product retailers. These links are provided solely for convenience and do not constitute an endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation with any third party. The Strand Studio Salon has no control over and assumes no responsibility for the content, privacy practices, security, or accuracy of any external site. Your access to and use of third-party platforms is entirely at your own risk and subject to that platform's own terms and policies.

Professional products referenced or sold through this website or in the Salon are subject to their manufacturers' warranties and disclaimers. The Strand Studio Salon disclaims all liability for adverse reactions to third-party products used at home by clients following purchase.

12. Website and Digital Content Accuracy

While The Strand Studio Salon makes reasonable efforts to ensure that the information on this website is current and accurate, it is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without any warranty of any kind. The Salon expressly disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or harmful components.

13. Dispute Resolution, Governing Law, and Jurisdiction

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR RIGHTS.

In the event of any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms, the services provided, or your use of this website, the parties agree to first attempt informal resolution by contacting The Strand Studio Salon directly and in good faith. The Salon will attempt to resolve the dispute within thirty (30) days of written notice.

If informal resolution fails, any dispute shall be resolved by binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA), conducted on an individual basis. CLASS ACTIONS AND CLASS ARBITRATIONS ARE NOT PERMITTED. You waive any right to bring or participate in a class action, class arbitration, or representative action.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state in which The Strand Studio Salon is registered to conduct business, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any litigation not subject to the arbitration clause above shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts of competent jurisdiction in that state.

 

14. Severability, Waiver, and Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found by a court or arbitrator of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be severed and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The failure of The Strand Studio Salon to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy below, constitute the entire agreement between you and The Strand Studio Salon with respect to your use of this website and receipt of services, and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications, representations, and agreements.

15. Modifications to Terms

The Strand Studio Salon reserves the right to update, modify, or replace these Terms at any time at its sole discretion. Changes will be effective upon posting to this website. Your continued use of this website or services following any modification constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically for changes.
